So Amanda came over the other day and she started talking about how she gives her bunny a bath. While she was talking to me I realized that I have not given my cat Penny a bath in such a long time!
Well this morning Eisa and I were lounging around the house and I looked over at Penny who was stretched out near the fan. Surely she is hot; I thought to myself… …WHY….NOT...GIVE…HER…A….BATH!!! I'm going to be doing her a favor by cooling her off.
So I went and filled up the tub and then looked under the cupboard for her cat shampoo, except I couldn't find it. I must have tossed it out.
Well, I didn't let that stop me. I was on a mission to give my cat a bath and to provide myself with some entertainment. So I decided to make my own shampoo for her.
So I went into the kitchen and looked in my cupboards and I spotted the olive oil. Olive oil is perfect; it will give her a nice shiny coat!! So I take a spoonful of olive oil and mix it with a small drop of shampoo and I water it down in a bowl and mix it up.
After I had my concoction mixed up, I went on a hunt to find Penny who had by this time moved to lie in the bedroom window sill for a little mid morning cat nap.
I ever so sweetly picked her up, making sure I had her legs held tight so she couldn't scratch me and took her into the bathroom and plopped her down in the water.
She was meowing and trying to escape every chance she got, just like all other cats…
After I was done washing her with my special homemade cat shampoo, I took her out and dried her off in a towel and then I let her free.
The good news is Penny did cool off after her bath.
The bad news is I think she hates me now.
The very bad news is that my cat looks like a giant grease ball thanks to my brilliant olive oil shampoo bath I gave her.
Penny's been dried for hours now…. but she still looks wet.
